Common Sense Tips for Using Make Up and Skin Care

More Health And Beauty Tips

Although putting on make up is more a women as world there are some men that also apply it though they are in the minority. Men that use make up will do so more in the interests of skin care than for looking good. Many women use make up on a daily basis and this can be damaging to your skin in the long term. This will be even more so if the make up you are using is of poor quality. Saving a dollar or two may certainly be detrimental to your skin in the long run. Make up should only be used on healthy skin which is really self explanatory. There are a variety of excellent quality make up products on the market that are formulated using special moisturizers and added herbs that double as skin care in the make up itself. If you use make up regularly rather aim for these.

When using make up there are a few pointers that will help take care of your skin so that you will look good and your skin will not take a beating.

Here is a guide on make up and make up products that should help you maintain a beautiful skin:

1. When you buy make up products check out the ingredients they have and always but them with your skin care in mind. After all you will be applying them to your face and body so if they double as skin care then you know they will be worthwhile. If you buy make up that causes any sort of skin reaction or you see that you are allergic to it avoid it forever. Check for make up that has excessive alcohol content in it as these are a no-no. They will dry out all the natural oils you have in your skin.

2. Only use make up before the expiry date. If you have old cosmetics and make up on your dressing table or in your bathroom cabinet that are passed their ‘best by’ date dispose of them safely. Always Keep track of the expiry date on your skin care and make up products. It has been discovered that certain vitamin C products can expire well before the specified date so be careful if you prefer using these.

3. Cleansing your skin before applying make up is important. The same goes when removing make up at the end of the day. Naturally you have heard that it is not good for your skin to sleep with your make up on, so take time using a good make up cleanser followed by a quality moisturizer before bedtime which should be a good habit. You make up should also be in good condition. Keep lids tightly shut after you have used them and keep your eye liner pencils sharp and your lash enhancers sealed.

4. When applying makeup then tie your hair up or cover it with a towel especially if you are applying foundation. Naturally your hair care follows on to skin care so keep your hair clean is also part of the make up routine.

5. Take care of your nails properly and use quality nail varnish that has an ingredient in theta keeps your nails from chipping and splitting. Nail care beauticians like to apply a standard color and add a lacquer finish for extra sheen and strength. When you remove nail polish, always be sure to apply a good skin care moisturizer especially to your cuticle area. There are superb cuticle oils that you can find at the make up counter which contain aloe Vera and other herbal ingredients that are great for your hands.

6. When you use eye shadows use a light color if you have deep set eyes and rather use a liquid eye shadow rather than the pencil variety. This helps against smudging as well. If you pluck your eye brows rub in some skin moisturizer straight afterwards. If you are applying make up the following day try and pluck your eye brows the night before. Sometimes the area tends to become tender and swell. Make up may then cause a reaction with the area.

7. For people that suffer from blemishes and acne care needs to be taken with the choice of foundation products and make ups. Man made chemical types of make up can scar and cause even more damage to your skin. A beautician or qualified dermatologist can give you the right advice. There are products available for sensitive skins which can be used. Do not try and squeeze pimples because this can spread infection as well as cause scarring. There are hundreds of very effective products available for teenage acne and for adults that will solve the problem properly without hurting your skin the way squeezing will.

8. Purchase proper make up removers and complementing pads to clean off make up. Work over your entire facial area to make sure every bit of make up is removed and then following with a facial wash.

9. When using deodorants apply them by spraying at least 20cm away from your actual skin unless they are roll on. Do not apply deodorants and perfumes to the same part of your body where they may clash.

10. Take time to apply make up properly when you put it on. A slapdash job will look slapdash and may also be uncomfortable as well. Many women keep a small touch up make up purse in their handbags to repair little smudges and runs. Also keep a make up remover in the same bag as well ready for emergencies.

Make up and skin care goes hand in hand. The better you take care of your skin the longer you will enjoy a smooth elastic and young looking skin. That’s the secret to the film stars beautiful looking skin. Ensure you follow a proper skin care routine without exception with the best products available on the market.

Skin Care Tips for Oily Skin to Prevent Acne

Maintaining a proper skin care routine is important to keeping your skin clear, free of impurities and oil, and moisturized so it remains healthy, acne-free, and radiant. Your basic skin care regimen should include cleansing of the skin, applying an alcohol-free toner, and finish with a moisturizer + sunscreen.

Face cleansing is the core of skin care regimen. You should wash your skin with a gentle cleanser at least twice a day to remove the oil, dead skin cells, dry skin. These are substances that can clog the pores. It is important for the pores of your skin to remain bacteria free as the presence of bacteria is something which contributes substantially to the growth of pimples. If you have overall cleanliness of the skin, you can lessen the chance of pimples. Before you apply all those cosmetics or medications for your acne, experts always tell you to wash your face. Here are several tips on proper skin care for your oily acne skin and how to properly wash your face.

1. First, remove every trace of make-up/cosmetic on your face. Use cotton ball and moisturizing cream to avoid damaging your skin.

2.Use lukewarm water to wash your face. This will also open the pores for deeper cleansing. Avoid washing your face with water that is too hot or too cold as it can dry out your skin. .

3.Avoid strong or harsh soaps/ cleansers. Strong soaps can dry your skin and strip off natural lipids. Choose soap that are mild if you prefer soap, or you can always choose cleansers that are soap-free, non- comedogenic (won’t clog pores), and mild like Cetaphil, Burt Bee’s or Neutrogena. Even better, you should use natural skin care products such as Dermalise since they are more gentle to your skin.

4.For people who have acne-prone skin, you should use cleansing products that contain salicylic acid. Salicylic Acid is a naturally occurring organic acid and a gentle, effective exfoliator. It is very effective for acne and oily skin and helps to unclog pores by removing dead skin cells, loosen and remove blackheads and whiteheads, and prevent future outbreaks. Products should contain 1-2% concentration of salicylic acid in order for it to be effective. For sensitive skin types, a 1% concentration would be suitable and for stubborn acne, 2% concentration is recommended.

Note that Salicylic Acid also makes skin sensitive to the sun. Sunscreen should therefore be used while applying Salicylic Acid. Also, sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays of the sun and helps prevent wrinkles.

5.Massage face gently in an upward motion using using your fingers. Do not do hard rubbing as it will actually do more harm than good.

6.Rinse face well to remove all residue of soap or cleanser. Residues left behind can actually clog your pores. Facial cleansers can leave an invisible residue behind which can clog your pores. Rinse three times, then rinse again.

7.Pat dry with soft, non-abrasive towel. Never ever rub your face.

8.Use an alcohol-free toner on your face. Toning your skin restores skin pH back to it’s normal range and it closes the pores to your skin and prevent dust and other air borne particles from settling in your pores. Again, it is recommended to use products with natural and organic ingredients. It should make your face feel smooth and refreshed. Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids work the best for toning the face. These acids actually can reduce the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs. They are aggressive and have quick results. Remember to look for a product that is not photosensitive (sensitive to light).

9.Finish your routine by using a moisturizer to replenish the natural oils that have been lost. Moisturizing is a necessity step. Again, the product that uses natural ingredients (i.e. Dermalise) and with the least amount of chemical additives is the best. Always use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing. For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E, or aloe vera oil. It is available in liquid form, or just break open a capsule and apply the oil directly to the skin.

10.Use a sunscreen throughout the day (min SPF15) to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Long term exposure to UV radiation may result in harmful effects such as sunburn, skin cancer, and acceleration of skin aging process.

11.If you have oily hair, you should wash and shampoo your hair daily to prevent the oil from touching and clogging the pores on your forehead.

12.Also, it is also important to not to touch your skin with your fingers. Our hands and fingers normally carry a multitude of various germs. When these germs make contact with the pimples, it can make the pimples worse.

The above 12 essential skin care for your oily acne skin steps would help you keep your face clean, clear and beautiful. However, for some of us unfortunate acne victims, our acne problems are more serious. Therefore, tougher measures must be taken. In addition to following the above recommendations, it is recommended to use an acne curing system that fights acne bacteria both from inside the body as well as outside the body. Most over the counter acne products in the market such as Clearsil, Oxy-10, ProActiv only address acne problems at the skin level and that is not enough to effectively fight acne.

If your acne problem still persists after following the above skin care regimen, you should use an anti-acne system that employs the proven principle of fighting acne both from the outside and the inside the body. The system should include an oil-free, SD Alcohol and Salicylic Acid solutions based facial & body wash and herbal pills. The facial/body wash will help you fight acne on your face, back, chest and arms by unclogging your pores and expelling all the bacteria and oil that cause pimples and other blemishes. The herbal pills effectively fight acne-causing bacteria from the inside. Together, they are very potent in getting rid of acne fast and preventing acne from occurring again. See our website for more information and for recommendation of a proven anti-acne system guaranteed to stop acne fast!

What You Must Know About Acne Skin Care

There are many products on the market for acne skin care, some of them hyping so-called “miracle cures”. While there are no miracle cures, there are several products that many people find extremely helpful for controlling acne. Below are what we consider to be the best treatments for adult acne and good skin care advice.

At the heart of acne lies the pimple – what doctors call a comedo. It’s a plug of fat, skin debris, and keratin (the stuff nails, hair, and skin are made of) stuck in a hair duct. When it’s open, it’s called a blackhead. When it’s closed over, it’s called a whitehead. Whiteheads often cause the walls of the hair duct to rupture, which leads to redness, infection, and the papules, pustules, nodules, and cysts of acne.

Boys are more likely to suffer acne scarring than girls. But girls are more likely to have adult acne.

Nearly everybody thinks that acne results from poor hygiene. That’s just not so. Adult acne and teen acne are caused by a combination of several factors – hormones leading to excess oil secretion; faulty closing of the hair duct; and infection. Gentle face washing twice a day is much better than more frequent washing.

Many adults experience adult acne from time-to-time, in fact, according to statistics adult acne affects 25% of all adult men and 50% of adult women. For some, an outbreak often coincides with the menstrual cycle or times of stress. For others, it is a mystery. While it can’t be cured completely, there are treatments for adult acne that work very well.

Acne skin care ingredients that are often helpful for improving acne include salicylic acid, sulfur, and benzoyl peroxide. For some, these ingredients are too harsh and you may prefer natural ingredients.

When acne skin care is treated in a doctor’s office it’s called “acne surgery”. When done at home, it’s called squeezing pimples. It gets immediate results – but when you squeeze pimples at home, you are begging for infection and scars. And squeezing or picking at pimples is a great way to get your acne to spread. Don’t do it! Doctors use a special sterile instrument to prevent scarring, infection, and acne spread.

You can also check out the skin care advice aisle at your local drug store. If you’ve ever tried to buy acne remedies, you know the drug store is loaded with all kinds of products. Which ones should you use? It’s not an easy choice say leading dermatologists.

In conclusion, the treatment that is best depends on which type of acne you have. It may well be worth a visit to a dermatologist. They often have samples and skin care advice they could give you to try. People can spend a fortune on over-the-counter medicines when there is maybe one single prescription drug that could solve the problem. Be sure to use oil-free, non-comedogenic lotions or sunscreens. Use something very simple to wash you face with, as well as low-strength benzoyl peroxide. But it would be best to see a doctor to prevent possible acne scarring.

Which Hair Removal Method Do You Prefer

The laser performed removal of the hair beneath the skin, was done experimentally for twenty years before it officially entered the market more than ten years ago. For some types of hair removal procedures, your skin type can help to determine the likelihood that the process will work on you specifically. Now there are several affordable hair removal options for men and women but you might have to adjust your expectations when it comes to the length of time the unwanted hair will actually be removed when considering the cheaper options.

You can easily find a laser hair removal practitioner that is willing to offer ear hair removal but when it comes to nose hair removal, you are probably stuck with shorter-term options. The cost for laser hair removal vary a lot and your best bet is to shop around and consider the various options available in your local area. For men, part of the problem might be figuring out what options are available, the cost and time involved, pros and cons of each option and related questions that guys want to know the answer to.

Because of the large area that generally gets treated during chest hair removal, several main options are available for men that could offer medium to long term hair removal with repeated treatments. Waxing can offer short to medium term hair removal while laser and pulsed light treatment might offer longer term hair removal, usually with repeated treatments. Many athletes opt for a longer term solution for hair removal such as laser hair removal or light-based hair removal treatment that could offer several weeks or months of hair removal with repeated treatments.

Your skin type is a very important determining factor for the success or lack of success when it comes to laser and pulsed light hair removal treatment. And before you start tweezing consider whether or not you shall choose laser or light hair removal treatment in the near future. An experienced practitioner can tell you to avoid tweezing and using other hair removal options before any laser or light treatment you schedule.

Before exfoliating after hair removal treatment, you better check with your practitioner to ensure you do not end up irritating your skin. That is important if your skin is already a bit red from the treatment. Nowadays laser hair removal is safe and it is usual that the patient’s skin might experience a little redness or pinkness on the targeted hair areas.

Modern laser technology makes it possible to remove unwanted hair from your body parts. A gentle beam of concentrated light on the targeted hair areas passes through your skin to your hair follicles. This technology is now one of the most effective ways of removing hair from the body in a permanent fashion.

Another well established method is electrolysis, which is considered to be a true permanent hair removal option. The cost might be too high for you depending on the amount of hair to be treated and the number of visits you may need to remove all your unwanted hair. The electrolysis for man by killing the root, might seem to be ideal, but it is not so dependable and can be expensive. Laser hair removal is much less expensive than the method of removing hair with electrolysis. Some individuals may only be eligible for electrolysis due to physical and hair characteristics which make laser hair removal very difficult or impossible.
