I plan to take laser training in arizona laser institute, but i don’t know whether i could use their certification in NY. and have any online paramedical esthetics program to recommend?
@dlss87 this is the reason you should stick to the same nurse. I had the same technician for the last 7 months treating my face so as to avoid things like this. I hope the burns are nothing serious.

@ImaginarYxGoddesS it worked very well for me. I’m a guy and i’m 95% hairless on my face thus far after 5 treatments & 5 touchups. One more treatment & one more touchup to go & then it should be all clear. I am west indian (a little darker skin type so they used Yag laser). I went to Romeo & Juliet in NYC & my technician had 10 years of laser hair removal experience. I’m very happy.

This poly-chronic light is the reason why IPL is prone to damaging skin. Eg, Mediterranean skin types do not handle IPL very well. There are dermatologists in Sydney that offer IPL for improvement of pigmentation, however, they are honest enough to deter their Mediterranean clients from it because it does more damage than good. Do you work at an IPL clinic? They’ll convince you they’re the best by using technical words. Final note, all information points to lasers being more effective.

Your hormones are still booming up to this age, which is why may be someone told you this. The truth is that our hairs grow through our entire life and I know of nothing that can prevent them from showing up as we have it genetically programmed to have hairs growing at certain spots at certain age. Lasers, IPL etc. destroy only the active hairs at the moment, this does not mean that in 10 years you will not have new hairs growing, but they will be only few and thinner.

I disagree with you. The lasers have monochromatic light, which does not go deep enough in the skin, like the ruby, alexandrite and diode lasers. When the laser’s wavelength allows for deeper penetration like the ND:YAG ones the pigmentation of the hair does not accumulate enough energy for destroying the follicle. The IPL photoepilation uses poly-chronic light, which combines the advantages of all lasers without their disadvantages.This way even the deepest follicles are destroyed

The scare tactics by doctors and especially newscasters in this video are appalling. They will find the few individuals who have a problem and then sensationalize the heck out of it! 99.9% of individuals do not have complications with laser hair removal although I do agree that legislation should be required for all states but not necessarily that doctors alone should do the procedures because then the costs will go through the roof without quality competition.

can someone please answer these questions… Someone told me that if your under 25 it will not work because body hair stops growing at age 25, If its not true i will run to my nearest laser location
second, How much pain will i get into, someone else told me it feels like going out on a hot day on certain areas that are being treated and another told me it hurts more then waxing 
there are now at home hair removal systems such as the silk’n sensepil that uses a new light technology

try to look for a laser machine that’s NOT IPL, but actual laser. The type of lasser you want is alexandrite – they’re the best. There’s a company called gentlelase that provide these machines.
Also, you need to be doing regular treatments. Doesn’t matter what your technician says, you need to be going back when your hairs are starting to grow back rather than waiting for full growth. That way, the hairs are “killed” when they’re still weak rather than strong again. Hope that helps!
The technician that’s treating me over at Romeo & Juliet have 10 years of experience and seems to know what she is doing.
I’m male 35 & getting treatment on my entire face at Romeo & Juliet in NYC. I made sure i got the technican that did my consultation & free test patch each & every time i go there. She really seems to know what she is doing. Yesterday was my first touchup (had first treatment 2 weeks ago) and she goes the extra mile. So far so good. I’m almost completely hair free only a few hair stubble on my face which should shed. I got back in a month for my second treatment.
